"Warm-blooded creatures, we overheat easily and then an ancient terror sets in. We moan that we're being cooked... "I'm roasting" we say; "I'm burning up"; "It's like an oven in here." Now that we've lost our heavy body fur we chill fast, so we must wear thick clothing when the temperature plunges."
- Diane Ackerman (A Natural History of the Senses) pg. 90
Statement -
The paint pouring method produces undulating lines and organic forms. I chose this method because I wanted to show a lot of flowing motions in their organic shapes. I use color to communicate sensations we associate with certain colors. Red represents immense heat. This heat reflects the feelings of anger manifested in the body. The color white functions as a symbol of cold. peace. chill. When anger boils up inside of us, there comes a certain point where a calm takes over our bodies and attacks the heat.
